Signing Licensing Agreement with the University of Ruhuna and Finlays Company (PVT) LTD- 25 October,2024

The University of Ruhuna Business Linkage (RUBLink), in partnership with Finlays Colombo Limited, marking a milestone in the commercialization of four innovative herbal tea formulations targeting health benefits such as slimming, fat reduction and metabolic management, cholesterol lowering, and energy boosting effects.
This collaboration has resulted in a significant financial contribution of Rs. 2 million to the University of Ruhuna in recognition of this research breakthrough.
This innovation and technology transfer represents a significant step forward for the University of Ruhuna in promoting research-driven commercial ventures. Key contributors to this achievement include Senior Professor Sujeewa Amarasena, Vice Chancellor of the University of Ruhuna, and the Director of the Business Linkage Unit, Dr. Lahiru Prabodha. Essential support was also provided by Deans from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences and Faculty of Medicine, as well as our dedicated research team led by Senior Lecturer in Department of Pharmacy, Shanika Karunanayake, Senior Lecturer in Anatimy, Dr. Lahiru Prabodha, Demonstrtor in Department of Pharmacy Pramila Gayani, and Technology Transfer Manager, Chamila Ranasinghe.
