The Technology Transfer Office (TTO), University of Ruhuna, in collaboration
with the College of Biochemists, Sri Lanka (CBSL), and the FADNA Research
Center (FAREC), successfully conducted a workshop titled “Harnessing Nature
for Innovation: Development of Commercially Viable Products from Natural
Sources” on 11 March 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Faculty of Allied
Health Sciences, University of Ruhuna.
The workshop was designed for undergraduate and postgraduate students,
academic staff, and industry professionals, providing a comprehensive platform to
enhance both theoretical understanding and practical competencies in the
development of sustainable, market-oriented products derived from natural
resources.
Furthermore, the programme contributed to strengthening the interface between
scientific research and industrial application, thereby fostering innovation,
technology transfer, and commercialization within the natural products sector.
