Productive day at Ministry of Industries! University of Ruhuna had a product commercialization meeting with valuable insights and discussions. Grateful for the collaboration and dedication of Sri Lanka’s leading Solid Tyre Manufacturer - Global Rubber Industries (Pvt)
The discussion, which was focused on the commercialization of upgraded pyrolytic carbon black produced by the Department of Chemistry, University of Ruhuna. Upgraded pyrolytic carbon black is a sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional carbon black and it plays a significant role in addressing environmental and economic concerns.
Attendees, including prominent individuals by representing Ministry Additional Secretary Mr. Chaminda Patiraja, Ms. B. Kundalini - Assistant Director, Mr. Gamini Premathilaka -Industrial Development officer, Prof. B. A. K. Premachandra - Chairman Technical committee , Mr. Ananda Caldera - Managing Director of GRI, Mr. Vinod Asantha Silva - R & D Manager of GRI , Prof. Thusitha Abeytunga - Lead Academic Expert of AHEAD operation, Dr. Lahiru Prabodha, Director UBL- University of Ruhuna, Dr. Samantha Ranaweera, Senior lecturer, Dept of Chemistry, and Ms. Malmi De Zoysa - Specialized Research Assistant ,Dept. of chemistry were engaged in insightful discussions that highlighted the potential for impactful industry-academia partnerships.
